Effortlessly Outmanouvre Your Customers On The Battlefield With Knowledge, Cunning and Wit.7/5/2023 “You need to take your enemy’s side if you’re going to see things the way they do. And you need to see things the way they do, if you’re going to anticipate their actions, respond effectively, and beat them.” - Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones) Selling is a form of warfare. Your customers are your enemy and your offer is your sword.
Understanding your “enemy” is key when writing effective copy. You need to understand their perspectives, pain points, desires and motivations to conquer them in battle. Tyrion exists in a brutal and violent universe full of murderers and mythical beings. Despite his physical appearance and very much against the odds, he manages to triumph. He is the proof that intelligence and strategy win the race. He prevails by using his ability to master both his allies and enemy’s perspectives, anticipate their every action and cunningly bend them to his advantage. He intimately understands the audience he is appealing to, whether they be nobles or royalty and will alter his message to resonate and work in his favour. How you understand your customers should be no different. Your customers armour is dense and made from the finest valerian steel. Take the time to research their values, their intimate desires and the problems that grind them down. Only then can you overcome them and leave them without fight. Underneath their armour, they are fragile. They are easily manipulated by fear, aspiration and greed. The only way your blade is going to pierce their flesh is by knowing their achilles heel. You won’t require the force of a mountain because you’re already poised, the tip of your sword resting gently against their jugular. The battle is over before it even began. - Mr Predictable.
