“I always tell the truth. Even when I lie” - Tony Montana (Scarface) When selling anything, the truth can appear a little hazy.
Our conscience speaks up. Worried. Thinking we may have pushed it past the line a little too far this time. But where exactly is this imaginary line? When does the truth become a lie? It's a question that people struggle with daily. The answer is simple. It is wherever you want it to be. Let me explain: Take Tony Montana. He was a man who always spoke the truth. Even if it was not the truth… He believed in his own version of reality, and would do whatever it took to make others believe it as well. He knew that what he was saying was not entirely true, but chose to believe in it anyway. He believed in it so much that other people believed in it as well. He created his own reality. But wait, if it wasn’t true to begin with, does that mean he was lying? Although it can be a difficult issue for your conscience to grapple with, "truth" is subjective and can vary from person to person. It is often incorrectly seen as simple black and white answer, but it is much more complex than that. It can be influenced by personal beliefs, experiences, and biases. What someone wants to believe, becomes what is true to them. An unbreakable belief in what you are saying is the key. But be careful, because people aren’t stupid, and they will see through your bullshit if you flat-out lie to them. Tony was willing to do anything to maintain his position of power. Lies and manipulation became commonplace. His decisions eventually lead to his downfall, and the same can happen to us if we are not careful. Dishonesty is not a laughing matter, and it can damage relationships, reputation, trust. Everything. But you and I will never need to go to such extremes. Your empire won’t be built on deceit, violence, and manipulation. But we still need to tell our own version of the truth, and for others to believe it, we need to truly believe in it ourselves. You are not dishonest if you truly believe in what you are saying. We all have our biases and beliefs that shape our perception of reality, we’re just using this to our advantage. So remember, always be writing your own truths. Even when you lie, chico. - Mr Only
